Meet Some of Our People

Karen Kratz, President/Programmer
When not playing with her three oversized dogs or hiking around on her 18 acres of weeds, Karen enjoys saving turtles from becoming the byproduct of turtle-meets-auto.

Karen has been developing web sites since 1991 and attended college for programming courses in JavaScript and ColdFusion. She picked up some CSS skills along the way and is now working on self-learning Flash and PHP. When not running the office, she utilizes DreamWeaver (what self-respecting designer doesn't?) and many of the Adobe products for web design. She creates graphics and logos and hard-codes using Arachnophilia.

She has several on several boards of directors and is past President of the Lillington Chamber of Commerce. She keeps herself busy now as Secretary of her Rotary Club and teaching classes in web design, marketing and SEO for the Small Business Center in Lee County.

Kiersten "Kaye" Barnes, Vice President/Senior Designer

Being born under the sign of Sagittarius guaranteed a life long addiction to horses that became evident when, at a young age Kaye began riding the family St. Bernard.

Kaye took Computer Sciences program courses in Florida, including hardware, networking, VB programming,
and the Microsoft Office suite. Her first computer related job at KSA Advertising (1998) is where she honed her HTML and graphics skills. Since joining Roaring Aardvark in 2004 Kaye has expanded her skills in web site development, SEO, graphics and video media.

When not in the Aardvark Den, Kaye can be found at her 'Starting Point Stables' working on her own web site, or shoveling horse !%*& to the sounds of her favorite movie soundtracks.

Paula Hoffman, Administration and Development Assistant

Paula enjoys time with her family; husband Larry and daughters Skye, Madira and Sierra
on their ranch where they raise ponies.

She started work with Roaring Aardvark Web Design in 2005 as an assistant, and then was promoted to Administrative Assistant.

Paula has been managing web sites for a few years now and she is also considered our Queen of Emails as she manages all of our clients' email accounts as well.  She is continuing her education in Dream Weaver, Photoshop CS and now learning raw HTML. Her worst quirk?  She's too serious!

Other Professionals We Think You'll Like

Jonathan Bronsink, Bronsink Design
Jonathan came to work for us as an Intern in the summer of 2004. We were so impressed with him that we hired him after he finished his internship. Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Campbell University and, a sad day for us, moved on to work with a politial promotion company in Raleigh, North Carolina. After a few years he returned to his roots and took a job with Campbell University's graphics department. He owns and runs Bronsink Design, where he accepts work in logo design.

Amy Avery, AveryWrites
We met Amy at a business expo and checked out her work. She has a talented team of professional writers and marketing communications practitioners with over 25 years’ combined experience working alongside web developers and small businesses, as well as government, education, and healthcare clients. We referred Amy to a friend at the Harnett County Economic office and were told later that AveryWrites was fantastic to work with and had saved that office both time and money. Since then we have not hesitated to refer Amy's office to our clients.
